CALIFORNIA - HTC Chief Executive Peter Chou, claiming that his company is the largest after Google's Android developers. Peter Chou made the statement while speaking at the conference Upling Qualcomm in San Diego, California. Similarly, as quoted from Cnet, on Friday (06/03/2011).
Chou said that the Taiwanese company has shipped 25 million phones in 2010, and continues to grow in the opening quarter of 2011 with 9.7 million phones. In addition, HTC also claims when they occupied the top five global handset brands.
Chou also made a statement that his company is the largest developer behind Google's Android, which create and launch the source code for the Android operating system.
In addition, Chou also confirmed that the HTC is committed to producing mobile phones with Windows OS. He said that his company has a long history in dealing with the hardware for some of the Windows Mobile OS. While for the WP7, HTC also has six smart phones shipped with the OS.
In the event Upling Qualcomm, HTC also announced a software developer kit (SDK) called the HTC's newest OpenSense. The program allows users to access 3D on HTC devices.
