BlackBerry Partners Fund (an independent venture capital that focus on mobile technology) is again holding the BlackBerry Developer Challenge this year. Total prize put up by the BlackBerry Partners Fund to competition this year at 3 million USD (almost 2-fold greater than the BlackBerry Developer Challenge last year.) The winner of this competition will be selected based on the regional level. Regional-regional are North America, Latin America, Europe / Middle East / Africa, and Asia Pacific.
Three of the BlackBerry Developer Challenge competition this year is as follows:
- Best Adobe Flash ® / AIR app
- Most Innovative WebWorks ™ BlackBerry app on the BlackBerry and the BlackBerry 6 Playbook
- Most Addictive Social app using the fuel ™ Social Platform
Registration Date
Both new applications developed or ready-made to participate in this competition. To be eligible for this competition we have to fill out a form for each competition can be found at www.blackberrypartnersfund.com / submissions. The form must be filled and shipped on the following dates:
Cool Flash / AIR Mobile App for BlackBerry Playbook - forms can be sent starting on 28 April 2011 - August 12, 2011
Most Innovative BlackBerry WebWorks Playbook app on the BlackBerry and the BlackBerry 6 - forms can be sent starting on May 9, 2011 - August 26, 2011
Most Addictive Social app using the BBM Social Platform - form submission date has not been notified, visit the BlackBerry Developer Challenge for further notice
Recognition Award (Recognition Awards)
At the competition this time, the BlackBerry Partners Fund will provide awards recognition award to the applications in the following categories:
Best B2C application developed for a customer by an Agency or ISV
Most useful enterprise application
Best website conversion using the BlackBerry platform WebWorks
Most creative implementation of Super App characteristics
Top Performers - Most innovative use of Payment Service and / or Advertising Service
Academic - Most Compelling app created by student or faculty
Judging and Prizes
All winners will be announced at the BlackBerry Developer Conference in San Francisco on December 18 to 20 October 2011. The jurors will assess the applications included in this competition based on quality, innovation, creativity, and an interesting user experience.
Total prize in the competition this time is 3 million USD. The first 100 participants of this competition will receive prize packages. And, the prize will be given to applications which ranked first, second, and third in each competition in each region.
Prizes and awards will be given later was featured apps will be included in the BlackBerry App World for one week, mobile phones and BlackBerry tablets, membership in the BlackBerry Alliance Program, BlackBerry accessories, certificate, and others.
