NVidia from Smartphone to supercomputer

NVidia, known as the United States-based company emphasizing on the development of graphics processing units and chipset technology for PC and mobile devices, will also show off the Computex event held in Taipei, Taiwan from the date of 31 May to 4 June 2011.


In a release on its Web site, Nvidia will showcase GetForce technology, Tegra, and 3DVision. Nvidia also will demonstrate how technology can support computing devices from superphone to supercomputers. Also on display will be the latest PC games and applications, photography and 3D video.

Based on PCWorld reports on Monday (5/30/2011), CEOP Nvidia, Jen Hsun Huang told reporters that Nvidia will then distribute 10 million dual-core processor Tegra 2 to the end of June 2011. Tegra two known product used in Galaxy Tab Samsung, Acer and LG Transformer Optimus.

Huang also shows quad-core processor whose name is still a code, known as Kal El. This processor can support products such as tablets and smartphones. Tablets with Kal El is said to be out in September while the smartphone follow next year.

Huang said, Kal-El will give better graphics for gamers and non gamers, and supports applications with higher efficiency. "Kal El can do all that Tegra 2 do, but with lower power," said Huang.

Not to say whether Kal El will be ended on product called Tegra 3. But clearly, according to Huang, who supported tablet Kal El could to support gaming activities within a period of 4-6 hours once a refill.

Besides the processor, Nvidia will also showcase the latest wired 3D glasses at a price 99 U.S. dollars. These glasses are said to be cheaper, simpler and without the battery. However, there still mepersulit cable movement while wearing them.

In this event, senior vice president of Nvidia Corporation, Daniel F Vivoli, also will talk at the Computex Taipei Innovation Forum. This forum will be held starting tomorrow, Tuesday (31/05/2011) that, Vivoli will speak about "Personal Computing for a New Generation".
