Nokia President and CEO, Stephen Elop, in an interview at Nokia Connection 2011 event on Tuesday (21/06/2011), explains, "I know the tablet is very interesting. But, so far Nokia has not had a plan to launch a tablet. We work very carefully in the market working. " Elops explains, "We must do things differently. After all, if we look at the Indonesian market, what is really interesting."
Elop said that, in many countries, the tablet has not been reached by the community. Products tablet itself is only a few strong brands, while others have not responded much. Elop said that Nokia would prefer another strategy. One is to develop mobile phones at affordable prices, but can still give more benefits. "We introduced mobile phones with high capability. Then, we also introduce dual SIM card that can be used easily," explained Elop.
Meanwhile, Nokia also remain focused on device technology innovation efforts. Elop said, one of his form is the introduction of the Nokia N9 in Nokia Connection today. "We do innovation. Elop acknowledged that competition in the business of mobile devices is high. However, he is confident. "Nokia is in a strong position today. We know a lot of challenges, but we are strong in distribution and sales. Therefore, we are very confident," he said. In product innovation, Elop said that the product must be beautiful and useful.
In the Nokia Connection 2011, Nokia introduced several new products, including Nokia N9. In addition, there is also a dual SIM card phones, like Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03, and Nokia C2-06. Both are slated for release this year. Nokia also plans to launch 10 devices with Symbian platform Anna in the next 12 months.
