Smartphone is popular because of its function that could replace the functions of personal computers (PCs). "Smartphones can replace the PC because the processor can pursue PC processors."

Qualcomm as a designer of processors for smartphones also have added Augmented Reality applications that can enhance the 3D experience to enjoy multimedia content.
"Now, virtual content from GPS equipped smartphone from Qualcomm has a live camera view. Combination of two-dimensional virtual content with the original three-dimensional image will display the locations searched by more real. The application is called Augmented Reality."
Qualcomm and Big PlayAR also been collaborating with the Dallas Mavericks to introduce the first commercial applications that use Qualcomm's platform. Mavs AR, a game developed by Big PlayAR, has allowed fans of basketball who is watching the show Mavs playoffs at American Airlines Center to direct the Mavs AR smartphone with applications to match tickets for them to play a virtual basketball game from their smartphone.
Gartner Inc. says that in 2015, smartphone sales will reach 39 percent of total mobile phone sales. This makes Qualcomm as one of the smartphone vendors continue to prepare for innovation, including the planned launch of the new Snapdragon processor with quad-core (4-fold single core). This means the latest smartphone later in the year 2011-2013 will have 12 times the performance of previous-generation smartphones and battery savings of 75 percent.
